• Define what is meant by the term energy isolation and terms commonly used in lockout/tagout operations
• Explain why energy isolation is important to safe operations
• Identify the regulatory requirements for energy isolation while Identifying areas which are exempt from regulatory requirements
• Identify roles and responsibilities in the LOTO operations including employers’ responsibilities, the Authorised Employee and the Affected Employee.
• Understand the details of how the locking and tagging process operates
• Explain what is contained within a typical lockout procedure
• Become familiar with various types of LOTO devices
• Understand the Group LOTO procedure

Requirements

• Foundational knowledge of HSE will be helpful for proper understanding of this course
• Health, Safety and Environment Essentials (HSE Level 1) course is recommended
